Thai Golf Passport: An initiative to woo Indian golfers to Thailand

Launch of the Thai Golf Passport

The loyalty programme will keep the golfers updated on new golf venues, special offers and various events taking place in Thailand.
Tourism Authority of Thailand in association with SLW – a golf management company has launched the first ever loyalty programme for golfers – Thai Golf Passport. This exclusive initiative will facilitate Indian golfer a seamless experience in Thailand.
The golfers can be a part of this amazing rewards programme whenever they tee off in Thailand. Thai Airways, Cox & Kings, Callaway along with a number of Hotels & Resorts including premiere Golf Courses of the country have come together as partner to support this initiative.
“India is a very important market for us and we are experiencing a strong year-on-year growth from here. Keeping this in mind and ensuring value added services we have launched Thai Golf Passport in association with SLW Golf Management. This will help golfers to enjoy golf in their favourite destination and help us in connecting with the golfing fraternity in India,” said Isra Stapanaseth, Director Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi Office.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event he further said: “Since 2018 has been announced as the Tourism Year to Thailand, we will focus on our exclusive products and services. The main attractions are already here, so we will try to combining the tier two and three cities with the popular destinations to offer new perspective of the well known tourist attractions of Thailand.” “The initiative will also keep the golfers here updated on new golf venues, special offers and various events,” he added.
Thai Golf Passport is first ever initiative by any country to create a loyalty programme. The moment Indian golfer lands in Thailand to play golf he is eligible for the reward points; whether he goes to the partner organizations uses the partner facilities or not, still gets the points.
The golfers who want to become member of this initiative will not be charged any fee for the first year. Initially it will be introduced in the form of additional passport where the partners companies can mark the reward points. Later on it will be upgraded to the digital and card format.

Elaborating more on this initiative Anil Dev, Managing Director, SLW said: Thai Golf Passport is ultimately a reward programme which will make travelling not only easy but also rewarding. It will definitely increase number of repeat visitors to Thailand many folds.”

“There are so many destinations like Bangkok, Pataya, Khao Yai, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, with beautiful Golf Courses in Thailand. Every time you go there you will discover a new Golf Course. For a golfer it’s a great experience to go and play golf at different golf courses,” added Anil Dev.
“While hotels and airlines have loyalty programs this will be a first of its kind where a country has created such a programme for golfers. We support all golf tourism initiatives and are sure that this will really encourage golf travel,” said Gajendar Panwar, Vice President, Indian Golf Travel Association (IGTA).
Rohan Prakash, Associate Vice President, Cox & Kings opines that there are so many loyalty programmes which are doing good and people want to go with the brand just because of their loyalty programme. “More than just a loyalty programme it’s a one stop shop for golf lovers. We believe in providing quality service to our customer and this will also help in validating this claim,” he added.
