The one and only Swosti Chilika Resort located at Chilika Lake, the largest lagoon in Northern Hemisphere is emerging as ‘The Destination’ for wedding and MICE events. According to Jitendra Mohanty, CMD, Swosti Group the resort is getting much better response than expected with the highest ARR (INR 7400) in Odisha at the moment. “Within one year we have organised 12 wedding events and before March 2019 another 12 wedding events are scheduled to be organised at Chilika Resort. We are getting very good response from Mumbai, Kolkata, Jharkhand and other neighbouring states of Odisha.”
“For November, December and Januray we have already sold our 70 percent inventory and we are expecting rest 30 percent will be sold soon,” he informed.
As Mohanty informed, branding and promotion of the property – in domestic and foreign markets, is high on agenda. We have started digital marketing aggressively and getting lot of responses from Dubai and other markets. We have invited some travel planner/organizers from Germany, who saw the property and already started promoting to their clients.”
Elaborating on the growth of hospitality segment in Odisha he informed that the hospitality industry of the state has registered at least 25 percent growth in last one year. The average occupancy at the hotels has been more than 70 percent.
The beautifully landscaped Swosti Chilika Resort boasts of 78 finely crafted cottages, consisting of 36 Luxury Villas (Mid-lake County), 36 state-of-the-art ultra modern luxury suites (Windchime), 5 Pool Villas (Millpond) and 01 Presidential Suite (The Sanctuary).
