To ensure the steady growth in 2018, these roadshows will focus on building relationship with these emerging markets and build a connect between the Travel Agents, Tour Operators of these Tier 2 cities with the DMCs, Hospitality segment and Airlines of Sri Lanka.
The roadshows aim at strengthening the tourism relations between travel partners of both the coun-tries and are part of SLTPB strategic efforts to promote Sri Lanka as the most preferred short-haul holiday destinations for Indian travellers.
In association with Representation World, the roadshows will be commenced in Chandigarh on 10th July followed by Jaipur on 11th July, Vishakhapatnam 1st August and Coimbatore 3rd Au-gust, 2018. This four day events will include one to one meetings, presentation and workshop offer-ing a great networking opportunity for Indian outbound travel professionals and understanding of the unique product offerings for Indian travelers to Sri Lanka.
Speaking about the roadshow, Sutheash Balasubramaniam, Managing Director, Sri Lanka Tour-ism Promotion Bureau said: “We believe that the potential of the Indian travel market is yet to rea-lise in terms of attracting longer stay and higher spending travellers. It is our fervent hope to make Sri Lanka the most preferred destination in Asia for Indian travellers.”
Speaking on the same lines, Vineet Gopal, Director, Representation World shared, “Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, which is yet to be completely explored by Indian travellers. Its potential is still untapped so we hope that by promoting Sri Lanka in these cities, which are emerging outbound tourism markets, there will be additional growth for travellers from India to Sri Lanka.”

Sri Lanka has seen a substantial growth in tourist arrivals from India in the year 2017, with over 3.85 lakh Indian travellers. This makes India one of the top 5 tourists’ arrival markets in Sri Lanka.
