In line with the latest directive by the state government, ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj International Airport (CSMIA) is offering the regular RT-PCR tests at a reduced cost of INR 600 from April 01, 2021, as against the earlier rate of INR 850. The test result is made available within 8 hours. CSMIA has, since September 06, 2020, undertook over 3 lakh tests till date at the airport.
It was also the first Indian airport to launch a unique molecular testing technique developed by Abbott ID Now™’ that produces results in 13 minutes. This comes as express test and is available at INR 4500.
Furthermore, basis the directive issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), CSMIA will levy a fine on any individual found violating the mandatory Covid-19 safety protocols at the airport with effect from April 01, 2021.
A fine of INR 1000 will be issued to individuals who refuse to comply with COVID safety norms such as wearing face masks that covers the nose and mouth and maintaining social distancing amongst others at the airport.In the event of further non-compliance, the violator will be handed over to the authorities for further action.
