NIMA announces India’s first MICE Expo ‘I-MICE’ in 2025

Country’s first world class MICE Expo – ‘I-MICE’ will be organised in 2025, announced Jagdeep Bhagat, National Coordinator of Network of Indian MICE Agents (NIMA). “Though we do have many Tourism Exhibitions in India, there is a void when it comes to MICE vertical. I-MICE will be the sought-after event for the global MICE stakeholders to connect with their Indian peers,” said Bhagat.
He was speaking at the outset of the second edition of ‘NIMA MICE FORUM’ organised in Jaipur from 29-31st July 2022 at Hotel Crowne Plaza. The event was attended by over 100 NIMA member delegates from all over the country.
While unveiling ‘VISION 2025’ for NIMA, Bhagat further informed that apart from the I-MICE, NIMA will soon roll out India specific certificate program NCMP (NIMA Certified MICE Professional) for the industry. “The program curriculum will have all the established processes and learning but will be customised according to Indian working conditions,” he added.
Speaking about at the NIMA MICE Forum, Bhagat, further said, “First organised in 2019 in Raipur, ‘NIMA MICE FORUM’ has been envisaged as an event to deliberate, share knowledge, learn, network and grow in the country’s burgeoning MICE space and encompasses MICE businesses across domestic, inbound and outbound space. The event is attended by the owners or top management of the companies and is restricted to members, professionals and invitees only, as is visible at the forum this year.”

He pointed that since it was established in 2014, all the NIMA events have stood out for NIMA member delegates from tier II, III and smaller cities as well, a particular NIMA specialty.
“A significant part of NIMA’s membership strength comes from the smaller cities that have remained largely outside the reach and purview of key MICE suppliers like destinations, hotels or convention centers. NIMA effectively facilitates suppliers to reach out to this important segment of business source along with MICE operators from major cities,” he informed.
The event also witnessed B2B table top buyer-seller meet and more than 20 suppliers showcased their products, ranging from hotels and convention centers to destinations to the 100 plus pan-India buyers. Overall, more than 2000 B2B meetings were conducted.
Anand Kumar Tripathi, Additional Director (Dev.), Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, was the Chief Guest at the event. Rajeev Kohli – CIS, CITP, DMCP, SITE Global President 2016 & 2017 gave the Keynote Address titled ‘Transcending Boundaries’. Dr. Subhash Goyal, Member, National Tourism Advisory Council, Ministry of Tourism and Chairman of STIC Travel Group, also addressed the delegates.
Rajasthan Tourism supported the event as the Host State, whereas Chhattisgarh Tourism supported as the Partner State. Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau participated as Principal Sponsor.
