MP Tourism honors industry stakeholders with Awards of Excellence

Minister for Tourism and Narmada Valley Development Authority, Govt of Madhya Pradesh, Surendra Singh Baghel presented the awards in 38 categories.

In an attempt to boost the efforts made by tourism industry stakeholders to promote Madhya Pradesh as one of the most sought after destinations in the country, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) honored the industry stakeholders with the Awards for Excellence on March 1st, 2019 at Minto Hall in Bhopal.
The Minister for Tourism and Narmada Valley Development Authority, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Surendra Singh Baghel presented the awards in 38 categories in the presence of
Hari Ranjan Rao, Secretary Tourism, Government of Madhya Pradesh and Bhawana Walimbe, AMD, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
While speaking on the occasion, tourism minister of the state Baghel said: “The government is focusing on the tourism sector very aggressively. Facilities are being reviewed for the tourism policy/finance, and amendments shall be made as and when required.”
As the minister said that digitalisation is the need of the hour, the department of tourism is ready to take new initiatives in this area. Also, the department is planning to organise more travel related events at the huge water bodies of the state.
The minister further informed that since the state is very popular among international travellers the government of Madhya Pradesh will plan its strategy accordingly to woo more travellers from across the world.
Presented in 38 catagories, the award for Best Tour Operator (National) and Best Travel Agent in Madhya Pradesh were given to Travel Bureau Khajuraho. The objective of this category is to recognise the efforts in increasing the tourists’ inflow and promoting the state at national and international fronts.
Other categories include, Best Travel Agent Madhya Pradesh award was given to Historical India Tour and Travels Orcha. Award for Best Tourist Transport Operator and Best Adventure Tour Operator were given to Madhya Pradesh Travels, Bhopal and Somanipuram Adventure Park and Resort, Indore respectively.
While the award for Best Tourist Guide Madhya Pradesh was given to Lakhanlal Rajak of Datia, the Best Tourist Guide Archaeological Survey of India award was given to Sanjay Kumar Khare of Khajuraho.
In hospitality sector, various awards such as Best Hotel – Radison Blu Indore, Best Heritage Hotel – Usha Kiran Palace Gwalior, Best Eco-friendly Hotel –Pench Jungle Camp, and Best Eco-friendly Forest Lodge –Kanha Village Eco-resort, Mandla district were given. Best Chef award was given jointly to Jivan Singh and Nathhi Singh Rawat.
The Best Tourist-friendly National Park award was given to Satpuda Tiger Reserve, while the award for Best Tourist-friendly Spot Centre was given to Dadaji Dhuniwala Darbar Khandwa.
