Kazakhstan records three fold growth from India

Number of visitors from the Republic of India nearly tripled compared to 2022, showing an increase of 178.57 percent

According to the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the number of visitors rose from 28,000 in 2022 to 78,000 in 2023. The number of tourists (served in accommodation facilities) from the Republic of India to Kazakhstan increased more than tripled by the end of 2023, rising from 19,000 people in 2022 to 54,000 people in 2023.
This substantial increase can be attributed to the availability of regular direct flights between the two countries seven days a week, the introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime for Indian citizens in 2022, and the growing interest in Kazakhstan as a tourist destination.
On August 22 of this year, a Kazakh delegation led by Kazakhstan Tourism Board along with 7 representatives from the country’s tourism industry, presented tourist potential and tour packages to Indian tour operators and the Heads of the various travel associations in Mumbai.
This event was organized under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of India.
Additionally, B2B meetings were held between Indian and Kazakh tour operators. As a result of the event, active Indian tour operators were awarded valuable prizes from event partners, including two tickets from Air Astana, accommodation at The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty, and a visits to the Shymbulak mountain resort.
Moreover, in August of this year, Kazakhstan was recognized as the most favored MICE destination for Indian business tourists for 2023-2024 at the 6th Annual MICE Conference Expo & Awards (TMCEA) in Delhi, India.
The award was presented by the editorial team of MICE Affairs magazine. This ceremony is a key event in the MICE industry, gathering leading market representatives to discuss current trends, conduct business meetings, and honor the top performers in the industry.
