Based in New Delhi, George Ettiyil is responsible for overseeing all commercial activities for Lufthansa Group Airlines business in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
George brings a unique blend of understanding of the business and cultural landscapes in India and Germany. Born and schooled in Germany, George completed his college education in India. Having spent over two decades at Lufthansa Group, he has worked a decade each in India and Germany. He is fluent in German, English and Malayalam.
He began his professional career with Lufthansa Group in 1996 as a Management Traineein India and worked over 13 years across Lufthansa offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Chennai in cross-functional managerial roles.
He moved to Frankfurt in 2009 and held key management positions in account management,controlling and sales within the Lufthansa Group there. Prior to his assignment as Senior Director Sales South Asia, he was Head of Global Sales Product & Programs for the Hub Airlines at the Lufthansa headquarters in Frankfurt.
George has a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering Trivandrum and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and Management from the Indo German Chambers of Commerce.
