Travel Agents Federation of India, North India Chapter, (TAFI NI) has re-elected Ashwani Sharma as the Chapter Chairman. Sheraton Travels’ Sharma will head the TAFI NI Chapter for another two-year term 2018-2020. Previous Office Bearers MM Travels’ Mukul Agarwal and Federal Travels’ Khushvinder Sarna have also retained their respective positions of Secretary and Treasurer from the previous term.
New faces in the team include Pranita Bavija of Global Business Travels and Niti Batra of Joy Travels, both of whom are Committee Members in TAFI NI Chapter and have come in place of YTS Travel Service’s Vivek Kumar Harjai and Blue Skies Travels & Tours’ Arush Mittal. The new team has been elected unopposed.
Commenting on his re-appointment, Sharma, said, “This is a great responsibility and faith that our TAFI North India members have reposed in me and my team of Office Bearers. North India is one of the biggest chapters in TAFI with more than 400 members. We will make sure that we are able to bring greater benefits to our members across the region, especially those in Punjab, Rajasthan, UP and other regions in the North India chapter. Training, education and knowledge sessions for members in the chapter region in order to equip them for challenges ahead is going to be one of our greater focus and priority.”
Furthermore, Sharma said, “We have got around 70 members from North India who are covered under TAFI joint bank guarantee system. I would like to see that number increase and more and more TAFI members from North India take advantage of it and grow their business. We can also look at creating new chapters to bring in more efficiency in our functioning.”
