The annual TAFI (Travel Agents Federation of India) Convention this year is headed to the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, also the capital of the ‘Emirate of Abu Dhabi’, the largest of the UAE’s seven Emirates. The event is scheduled from September 25 to 28. The iconic Emirates Palace Hotels is the convention venue.
Speaking of the forthcoming convention, 12th in the series, TAFI President Praveen Chugh, said, “We have informed the members to block the dates starting from 25th of September for three to five nights’ programme, three nights for convention and two nights for post tours.” Furthermore, he said, “We are coming out with a package which includes five night accommodation with all the meals, transfers, sightseeing, Visa, air tickets and no additional cost, all for Rs. 33,333/– and Rs. 43,333/– on single occupancy.”
Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism Country Manager – India, Bejan Dinshaw, said, “We have always been interested in promoting the destination in the travel fraternity and that’s been one of the main reasons we are hosting the TAFI Convention. The idea is to expose the destination to all the TAFI members who come. We are looking at about 650 TAFI delegates to visit Abu Dhabi for the convention.”
Commenting on the choice of the venue, Chugh said that TAFI always comes out with a destination where the members have the opportunity to explore a new destination and promote it to their clients. “This convention will showcase a new Abu Dhabi. And we are not just talking about the Abu Dhabi city but also talking about destinations within the region. We are also showcasing newer places and attractions which have come up recently like Warner Bros. World, Louvre Abu Dhabi and Ferrari World and so on,” he said.
